What To Do If You Want To Claim PPI But You Don’t Have The PPI Paperwork

Many people are now taking action and asking for the compensation that they rightfully deserve after being wrongfully mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI). However, since many of the loans and credit cards were taken out so long ago, a large number of people no longer have the original paperwork.

The Good News If You Don’t Have Your Paperwork

The good news is that we can handle this on your behalf and work with you to help your claim to success (in the event there is a valid claim).

We operate on a *no win no fee basis

To Start Your PPI Claim Now, Use The Contact Form To The Upper Right Hand Side Of The Page.

If you do not wish to use a ppi claims management company then by all means read below, however it can be tedious and not straightforward without the help of our team.

For those who are adamant that they wish the claim ppi for themselves saying: “I Don’t have my ppi paperwork”

This can raise a concern – after all, how can you make your claim if you don’t have any paperwork? – well, throughout this article we’ll be outlining the process for you and letting you know how you can get around this. It will obviously be a bit more difficult than if you did have your paperwork, but this shouldn’t put you off and you can still receive compensation at the end of all your hard work (if your claim is valid).

Contact the Bank (alternatively WE can handle this for you if you come on board as a client, we have extensive experience in handling contact with banks over PPI reclaims).

The first step that you will want to take is contacting the bank or lender and asking them if they have any of your documents still on record. However, it should be noted that banks do not need to keep any records that are over six years old and so this is something that you will want to take into consideration.

(If you decide to work with us, we would get the information from the banks’ on your behalf, meaning you don’t need to worry about carrying out your own investigation or attempting to chase up and trace your own previous PPI policies.)

This doesn’t necessarily mean that just because your policy started six years ago that the bank will no longer have your files on record though. The insurance must have ended six years ago for the bank to be able to remove your files from the record – so even if you took the insurance out 12 years ago, your records will still be on file if you only ended the policy a year or two ago.

Assuming that the bank still have all of your details on record, you will be able to get your paperwork and file your claim – if however the policy was ended more than six years ago, the bank no longer have your files on record, and you no longer have the paperwork then this might cause a bit of a problem, but there might still be some ways in which you can get around it (we have ways in which we can get around this problem for our clients, contact us for more information).

Additional Information

If you are having trouble making your claim – it can be very confusing if you don’t have much experience with loans, credit cards etc – then your best course of action would be to go to a claims management company who will be able to advise you and guide you through the process.

Above all, you shouldn’t be worried about whether you can claim compensation or not simply because you don’t have the paperwork any more – there are an abundance of people who no longer have their paperwork for loans and credit cards that they have taken out years ago. You definitely won’t be the only person who has lost their paperwork and so it’s important that you still go ahead with the claim as it is possible you could receive compensation.

If you have any trouble dealing with your bank or lender it would be your responsibility to contact the Financial Ombudsman Service who will be able to look at your case more closely and handle any complaints (However in contrast to this, any clients that come on board with us have the convienience of us handling their claim for them and that includes dealing with the financial ombudsman).

Ultimately, If you don’t have your PPI paperwork you have a choice as to whether or not to deal with all these factors yourself, or make use of a claims management company such as us who have years of experience in dealing with ppi claims without any original paperwork or documentation.

If you would rather use a company to handle the pressures of claiming ppi compensation then get in touch with us.
